Prince William Will Not Forgive Prince Harry After Brother Attacked His Wife Kate Middleton, Royal Expert Claims
Prince William and Prince Harry are not on speaking terms, and their relationship is unlikely to improve, according to a royal expert.
Several reports claimed that the Duke of Sussex had been trying to reconcile with his family, but his brother and father ignored him. Meghan Markle even allegedly found it "frustrating" that he had been "stretching himself so thin" and "pushing his luck" with his family. Michael Cole, a former royal reporter, appeared on GB News and weighed in on the royal siblings' relationship. He claimed that the rift was unlikely to end soon because the heir apparent would not forgive his younger brother after he attacked his wife, Kate Middleton.
"William has done his duty. In great contrast to Prince Harry. Now, I don't think there's any chance at all of there being a reconciliation with the brothers now or in the foreseeable future," Cole said on GB News.
"It goes back to Oprah Winfrey interview, then the book 'Spare' and all the things that were said in the Netflix six part series. There is too much bad blood. William is not going to forgive that, principally because he, of course, and his wife attacked personally, his wife, Kate."
Prince Harry made several statements against Middleton in his book. He claimed she had issues with how his wife, Markle, planned their 2018 royal wedding. The Princess of Wales allegedly made Markle cry over the bridesmaid dresses and grimaced when the former actress borrowed her lip gloss.
Cole also mentioned Prince Harry and Markle's reaction when they learned about Middleton's cancer diagnosis. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex wished the Princess of Wales "health and healing," but Cole said their "mealy mouthed response" failed to "show any great concern" for Middleton.
"William looks at them and he would say what most people would say. All of this is completely unnecessary," he continued.
Another report claimed that the Prince of Wales was the "enforcer" of Prince Harry's "absolute ban." The future king reportedly didn't want his younger brother to return to his royal duties in any way, shape or form.
Prince Harry also spoke about how his sibling responded to his peace offering in his 2023 memoir "Spare." He alleged that Prince William gave him a cold response.
"You left, Harold," Prince William reportedly said.
"Yeah, and you know why," Prince Harry answered back. However, the Duke of Cambridge reportedly replied, "I don't."
He also acknowledged their broken relationship in his book.
"My beloved brother, my arch nemesis, how had that happened?" Prince Harry wrote. "I felt massively tired. I wanted to go home, and I realized what a complicated concept home had become."
