Kate Middleton, Prince Harry Show No Sign Of Reconciliation Despite Claim She 'Leans On Him': Royal Expert
Kate Middleton and Prince Harry are still not on speaking terms despite reports they have reconnected, according to a royal expert.
Prince William, his wife and younger brother were once very close. Prince Harry was even dubbed the Prince and Princess of Wales' third wheel or wingman. He also said Middleton was "the sister I never had but always wanted." Due to their closeness in the past, many hoped that Middleton's relationship with her brother-in-law would improve despite the latter's feud with his sibling. However, Emily Andrews, a journalist, broadcaster and royal commentator, claimed there was no progress in Prince Harry's relationship with his sister-in-law.
"What has kept her going are her family and friends rallying round. Though sadly, the same can't be said for her brother-in-law, who she was once close to. Now she's faced with her darkest days, where has Harry been?" Andrews said, as per Express.
"With his new life in the US, high-profile TV appearances and a scathing book to boot, it is unlikely that Harry's shoulder will be one Kate has sought to cry on. But, there lies the rub. Surely illness is one of the most powerful reasons to reunite and to put the past firmly in the history books? Instead, the wedge appears to be even larger, with no sign of a bridge to connect the pair."
Andrews' statement about Prince Harry and Middleton's relationship came nearly two months after another insider alleged that Prince William's wife and brother had been talking again and she leaned on him following her diagnosis.
"Everyone assumes Kate doesn't like Harry, but they have a special bond that not many people really understand," the source told Life & Style. "She and Harry were extremely close at one time. She's confided in him during some of her darkest moments, and now that includes her cancer battle. Kate's leaned on Harry for support."
The tipster added that Markle was "blindsided" after learning about the pair allegedly communicating again. However, the former actress reportedly set aside the beef due to Middleton's illness.
Another tipster claimed to Closer magazine that Prince Harry tried everything to score an invite to last month's Trooping the Colour. He was reportedly "heartbroken and confused" with the way his family cut him off. He was also "emotional" to see Middleton making her first public outing since announcing her cancer diagnosis. Prince Harry reportedly tried to reach out to the Duchess of Cambridge, and while they reconnected, it was not the same as before.
"He's been so worried about her ever since he received the news of her condition, and whilst he has managed to connect with her on a few occasions, it's not nearly as often as he'd like," the tipster said.
