Meghan Markle Left With 'One Means Of Survival' After Failing To Establish Royal Rival Court In Montecito: Report
Meghan Markle's effort to be financially independent from the royal family is seemingly not working, so she's finding a way back, according to a royal expert.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex quit their royal duties and moved to the United States in 2020 in a bid to be financially independent from the Firm. However, four years later, Prince Harry and Markle have been rumored to be trying to reconnect with the members of the royal family despite their bombshell tell-all interview with Oprah Winfrey in 2020, their Netflix docuseries "Harry & Meghan" in 2022 and his memoir, "Spare," in 2023. Daily Mail columnist Maureen Callahan believes the Sussexes are trying to get back into the royal fold.
"I will give you one guess what this is about. I think that the plans to establish the rival court in Montecito have been failing ever downward since their arrival here," Callahan said on GB News.
"Every single solitary business or showbiz plan that Meghan has tried to get off the ground has landed with a resounding thud, and there is only one means of survival and that is to be welcomed back into the royal fold."
Callahan's remark came amid the claims that the former actress contacted her sister-in-law, Kate Middleton. An insider alleged that Markle was worried about her husband, who has been trying to reconnect with his family, so she reached out to the Princess of Wales.
"She wants to make peace with Kate. She doesn't want any bad blood between them," the anonymous tipster told In Touch. "Meghan's friends say she regrets how things went down, and she never meant any harm to Kate. Though she must realize she could've done things differently."
The "Horrible Bosses" actress has reportedly shown her concern for Middleton, who announced her cancer diagnosis earlier this year. However, the Duchess of Cambridge has remained aloof but "polite at best."
Markle's husband is also allegedly reaching out to his family. However, King Charles and Prince William have allegedly been ignoring his efforts as they "can't handle the distraction," according to Christopher Andersen, a royal author and commentator. Their response had reportedly made Prince Harry "angrier and more frustrated."
"Harry has tried again and again to make amends with his father, but to no avail," Andersen told Fox News. "The King and William have really dug in, and the more Harry is rebuffed, the angrier and more frustrated he gets."
There are rumors that the Sussexes are planning to return to the U.K. Lizzie Cundy, a British socialite and TV personality, said that if these were true, then "this is a sign they have lost all popularity in the States."
