Donald Trump cracked a bizarre joke about leaving his wife Melania Trump for a young woman he met at a Chick-fil-A during his rally in Georgia over the weekend.

On Saturday, the former president and current GOP presidential nominee welcomed conservative activist Michaelah Montgomery to the stage at his rally at the Georgia State University Convocation Center in Atlanta.

Trump embraced Montgomery before awkwardly joking that he considered "never going back home" to Melania after meeting the younger woman in April, as seen in a video shared on X, formerly Twitter.

While introducing Montgomery to his supporters, Trump said, "This one is so smart, so sharp."

He went on to recall meeting her earlier this year at an Atlanta Chick-fil-A, where he claimed she was "behind the counter."

Trump said Montgomery gave him a kiss and told him he "saved" her college, Clark Atlanta University -- one of the country's historically Black colleges and universities (HBCU).

"She grabbed me. She gave me a kiss," Trump shared. "I said, 'I think I'm never going back home to the First Lady.'"

Montgomery then jokingly chimed in that he was "supposed to keep that quiet" as the laughter erupted from the crowd.

Trump, however, was completely unfazed.

"See, now, for the average politician, that's death. For me, I don't care," he said before going on to praise Montgomery as an "unbelievable" person with a "great personality.

In April, viral videos captured Montgomery hugging Trump inside a Chick-Fil-A, where he had bought food for his supporters during a campaign stop in Atlanta.

Montgomery is the founder of Conserve the Culture, a grassroots campaign organization that "recruits and educates college students and young alumni" at HBCUs in Atlanta, the Associated Press reported.

At the time, she told the AP that she and a dozen other students came to the Chick-Fil-A that day with the goal of meeting Trump.

"People find it so hard to believe that there are young Black people who would have loved the opportunity to meet Trump," the conservative activist said.

"Everybody got together at around 9:30 in the morning and walked on over to the Chick-fil-A and then we sat there and waited until the president showed up," she added. "It's really disheartening to see that the media makes it seem like we just stumbled into a Chick-fil-A, and he bought us milkshakes."

Melania has largely steered clear of the campaign trail since her husband launched his reelection bid in late 2022.

However, the former first lady made a few official appearances this year, including the final day of the Republican National Convention.

Over the weekend, Melania was spotted in New York City with luggage bearing tags that read, "FLOTUS," seemingly signaling her support for Trump.
