Ben Affleck Unrecognizable In New 'Midlife Crisis' Look Amid Jennifer Lopez Divorce Rumors: 'JLo Pushed Him'
Ben Affleck was unrecognizable as he debuted a new haircut over the weekend amid rumors that he and his wife, Jennifer Lopez, are on the verge of divorce.
Affleck, 51, was seen in new photos shared by People sporting a shaved faux-hawk hairstyle in Los Angeles Saturday.
The Oscar winner had an equally cool outfit to go along with his new look, trading his usual plaid shirts for a black leather jacket, Red Hot Chili Peppers T-shirt and gray jeans.
Affleck completed his look with black and silver aviators and black boots.
The photos also showed him riding around in L.A. on a blue electric motorcycle.
Social media immediately erupted in speculations over the reason behind Affleck's unrecognizable appearance, with theories ranging from the ongoing divorce rumors to a possible "midlife crisis."
"Lawd, Jlo pushed that man right over the edge," one Instagram user commented on Affleck's new look.
"Midlife crisis perhaps?" another asked, while a third user quipped, "Say you're going through a midlife crisis without saying you are going through a midlife crisis."
One user showed support for Affleck's change in style, writing: "[I'm] here for all the bad decisions [he's] about to make."
However, others suggested that Affleck likely switched up his style for a movie role.
"This HAS to be for a movie [role]," one person commented.
"[It's] probably for a movie, everybody needs to relax," another wrote.
A third user sarcastically quipped, "An actor has a new look...he couldn't possibly be shooting a movie."
This theory isn't far-fetched considering Affleck has several projects in the works.
Affleck has been busy filming "The Accountant 2" in Los Angeles over the past several months.
Last month, Netflix also announced that he and his pal, Matt Damon, are teaming up for a new thriller titled "RIP."
Affleck's latest sighting came days after he bought a $20.5 million Los Angeles home without Lopez.
He and Lopez officially listed their Beverly Hills marital home for $68 million last month, fueling the rumors that the couple is heading for divorce.
Lopez has been staying in New York in recent weeks and hasn't been photographed in public with her husband since June.
Affleck and Lopez have not publicly addressed the split claims, but the Daily Mail reported that they've allegedly signed the divorce papers and are waiting for the "right time" to go public with their alleged breakup.
