A false rumor that Simone Biles is pregnant is spreading on social media as the gymnast nabs her fourth medal at the 2024 Paris Olympics.

The claims that Biles is pregnant with her first child with her husband, Chicago Bears football safety Jonathan Owens, while competing in the Paris Olympics gained traction on Facebook and X, formerly Twitter, last week due to a viral tweet.

"Still can't get over the fact that Simone Biles did all of that while being injured AND pregnant! A true GOAT indeed," read the now-deleted tweet dated Aug. 2, according to a screenshot obtained by Distractify.

When asked if the tweet was true, the X user reportedly responded, "Yup, she announced it during one of her interviews this morning!"

While the gymnast did confirm on July 28 that she had been dealing with calf pain amid the Olympics, Biles has made no announcement that she's pregnant.

According to Snopes, the Simone Biles pregnancy hoax began on July 31 when a website called Usalod.com published a report claiming Fox News reported that the athlete announced her retirement and disclosed that she was expecting a baby during the 2024 Paris Olympics.

The report was then shared by a user named Daily Mail Report 2.0 in a Facebook group called Patrick Mahomes and Brittany Mahomes -- which has more than 56,000 members.

"JUST IN: Fox News just reported that America's most decorated Olympic gymnast of all time, Simone Biles announces retirement at 27 after securing gold at Paris Olympics, reveals she is 'expecting a baby' with her husband, Jonathan Owens," the post read.

"This joyous revelation marks a new chapter in her life as she steps away from competitive gymnastics to focus on her growing family," it continued.

However, a Fox News spokesperson denied this claim, telling the fact-checking website in a statement, "This was never reported by Fox News."

Snopes also confirmed that Biles never made such an admission in late July.

Despite this, the false rumor continues to be shared by social media users across Facebook and X.

One X user tweeted Monday: "@Simone_Biles out here winning Gold WHILE pregnant! That's BEYond GOAT status!"

"Simone becoming the most decorated gymnast of ALL TIME then announcing her retirement AND pregnancy 48 hours later is TOP TIER. Tell me Black Women aren't amazing," another user posted Sunday.

While she may not be pregnant now, Biles previously said that she and Owens want to have at least two children in the future.

"So, I want two kids," she said during a 2022 Q&A, according to TMZ. "He always says he wants a football team."

Biles completed her Paris Olympics 2024 journey Monday when she took silver in the floor exercise final. She had already won three golds at this year's Games.

Monday's silver was her 11th Olympic medal overall.
