'Agents Of SHIELD' Spoilers: Quest to Save Skye Puts Coulson In An Explosive Situation [PHOTOS], What Will 'Tahiti' Reveal About His Past? [VIDEO]
Skye's life is on the line on Agents of SHIELD, and Coulson's quest to save her will reveal more about his own fight for survival.
As the ABC series heads into the promisingly titled "Tahitti," the former hacktivist is resting at a cool 44 degrees Fahrenheit after taking two bullets to the abdomen. With Ian Quinn (David Conrad) in custody, Coulson (Clark Gregg) and Ward (Brett Dalton) will be teaming up with the latter's former SO, John Garrett (Bill Paxton), as they look for a way to keep Skye (Chloe Bennet) alive.
Along with Agent Triplett (B.J. Britt), the trio will find themselves in close proximity to shocking information about Coulson and SHIELD - but finding this new intel will come at a cost. The team will find themselves trapped inside a room rigged to explode.
Will their mission be worth it? What will Coulson learn, and will it be enough to keep Skye off an autopsy table?
"Every time he says 'Tahiti,' he keeps finding himself spitting out this robotic "magical place" thing and so for me and for Phil Coulson, it's a big relief on one level to finally get to a place where somebody's gonna help him figure out what really happened, but unfortunately for Coulson, the people who want that information from him are villains using terrifying and painful technology," Gregg told HitFix in regards to Coulson's search for the truth. Now that he knows he was dead for several days and had his memory modified, Coulson needs to play two sides in order to find out more. "So he's stuck with this rather terrifying dilemma of how to use them and their methods to get the truth that's being denied to him even by the people he trusts the most -- Nick Fury and S.H.I.E.L.D. -- without revealing anything to them that might help them."
Agents of SHIELD will return on March 4, but until then, fans can get their SHIELD fix by scrolling through the "Tahiti" gallery above or watching the preview below.
