Keith Urban is be an award-winning country singer and on Wednesday the Australian proved that he should stick with what he knows.

In an interview on The Bobby Bones Show (featured below), host Bobby Bones decided that he and Urban would switch places. Bones interviewed his guest in Keith Urban's "voice" and the singer answered in the radio personality's dialect.

While Bones proved perfectly comfortable with his impression, Urban couldn't help but laugh. "That's ridiculous," he said of Bones, who refused to break character.

Urban tried to get the voice just right, but couldn't even come close. "I can't do the accent right," he laughed some more. "It's not coming out at all."

Urban tried again, though this time with even poorer results. "I can't do it," he declared.

"You sound like you're on helium dude," replied Bones as the studio crew all continued to giggle in the background.

For Urban's third attempt he broke into something of a thick lisp with just a hint of a southern twang, which proved so far from the host's actually voice that others in the studio began to chime in.

"That sounds like the old creepy guy from Family Guy," declared one.

Urban shook his head in shame. "The one who has popsicles down in his basement?"

"Yes!" responded everyone, much to Urban's dismay.

Fortunately for the singer, his career as a musician is much more profitable than his attempt at being an impressionist.

Last week Urban released the racy music video for Somewhere In My Car off his 2013 album Fuse. He's also nominated for Entertainer of the Year and Male Vocalist for this year's CMA Awards, which airs on live on ABC Nov. 5 at 8 p.m. ET/PT.
