The highly anticipated new season of FX's American Horror Story is ahead, and while Freak Show will have its fair share of horror elements, it will also feature some musical sequences.

American Horror Story has largely stayed away from musical performances, other than very special scenes now and then, such as The Name Game performance during Asylum and Stevie Nicks' performances in Coven. However, Freak Show is coming out of the gate with two musical numbers in the first two episodes.

Stars Jessica Lange and Sarah Paulson will have musical numbers in the first two episodes of Freak Show, according to a new E! Online report. As Enstars previously reported, Lange's new character, Elsa Mars, will perform the David Bowie hit Life on Mars. It is currently unknown what Paulson's conjoined twins Dot and Bette Tattler will be singing.

Lange's Elsa Mars is a former cabaret singer from Germany, which explains her lending her talents to the freak show. Set in 1952, Freak Show features Elsa, who owns a freak show in Jupiter, Fla. Among her troupe of freaks are Dot and Bette, bearded lady Ethel Darling (Kathy Bates), "Lobster Boy" Jimmy Darling (Evan Peters), three-breasted woman Desiree DuPree (Angela Bassett), strongman Dell Toledo (Michael Chiklis) and many more.

American Horror Story: Freak Show begins Wednesday at 10 p.m. ET/PT on FX. The premiere episode is 90 minutes long.
