The tablet is a new and improved Kindle Fire with high definition in an 8.9 and 7 inch model. Google Nexus 7 is also available in 2 sizes. While both the Kindle Fire HD and Nexus 7 are similar in hardware, it is actually the software that will make the greatest difference in comparison.

The Kindle Fire 2 release date is expected to be today, according to rumors. Amazon has yet to confirm any details about the predicted tablet that will stir competition in the tablet market.
