It was by far the most exciting day in the Big Brother 17 house, with all hell breaking loose on Friday.

Is 'Big Brother 17' Shaping Up To Be Better Than Season 15 & 16?

James made it clear to Meg and Jackie early on Friday that he was going straight for the jugular and putting up Clay and Shelli. Both were on board with the plan, and even though James made a deal with Shelli and Clay to protect both of them if he won HOH, they had also broken their deal to protect Jason just a few days earlier. Therefore, it is perfectly justified.

James did the deed and nominated Clay and Shelli for eviction on Friday. The power couple was completely blindsided by this, with Shelli openly weeping as Clay called James a "piece of s--".

Meanwhile, Vanessa tried to comfort the pair but with the amount of paranoia in the house, it is unknown how much they trust her anymore. Vanessa has been told on multiple occasions that Shelli and Clay sold her out, so her motives in protecting them are unclear.

Clay told Shelli and others that if he won the Power of Veto he would use it on Shelli, since she has the better chance of winning the game, according to him anyway. Many houseguests were not fans of this plan, especially since they want to get Shelli out way more than Clay. But if Clay does use the Veto on Shelli instead of himself, the houseguests would probably evict Clay just to break them up.

Saturday's Veto competition is going to be crucial for Shelli and Clay. Everyone other than Shelli and Clay would probably keep the nominations the same, though there is an outside change that Vanessa might have something up her sleeve.

Big Brother 17 returns for another episode Sunday at 8 p.m. ET/PT on CBS, featuring the Nomination ceremony.
