'Doctor Who' Season 9: Extra Long Hiatus Coming? Find Out Why Season 10 Could Be Delayed [VIDEO]
Get us a TARDIS - we don't want to wait over a year for the 10th season of Doctor Who.
The BBC series is only just gearing up for it's season 9 premiere, but rumors regarding season 10 are already coming down the pipe. Let's face it, Whovians, 2016 is looking rather bleak.
Due to showrunner Steve Moffat's Sherlock schedule, Private Eye reports that an extended hiatus might be in store for the Doctor and his companion. Moffat has yet to even lay pen to paper for Sherlock's fourth season, but there is a chance that the upcoming three-episode arc could cause the BBC to put Who on the back burner until 2017.
These rumors should be taken with a grain of salt, however. Looking that far into the future can often produce unreliable chatter.
The BBC has yet to confirm Private Eyes's assertion, and the network informed Den of Geek that "it's too early to confirm the schedule for future series at this point. We're all excited for the new series that starts on the 19th of September."
