American Horror Story boss Ryan Murphy recently revealed the role Chloë Sevigny will play in the new season.

Sevigny will play a doctor in American Horror Story: Hotel, the upcoming fifth season in the horror anthology series. Murphy confirmed this at the TCA Summer Press Tour on Thursday.

Murphy was also confirming the casting of Mädchen Amick (Twin Peaks, Witches of East End) in Hotel.

"[Amick] is playing the mother of a boy who becomes ill," Murphy said. "And Chloe plays the doctor."

It is an ironic twist of fate that Sevigny is playing a doctor considering her AHS: Asylum character Shelly had a very bad relationship with doctors. Shelly, a nymphomaniac in the Briarcliff asylum, was deemed a whore by Dr. Arden (James Cromwell), who amputated her legs.

Will Sevigny do some amputating of her own? Only time will tell!

Murphy also discussed the differences between American Horror Story and his new horror anthology show Scream Queens, which premieres this fall on Fox.

The executive producer spoke on how the violence in Scream Queens is more light-hearted than the grisly attacks frequently depicted in American Horror Story.

"Scream Queens has a much more satirical, cartoonish quality to the attacks than American Horror does, which is much more sexualized and darker at times," Murphy said.

Murphy previously said in an interview with Deadline that Hotel is going to have "a different tone this year than we've had" in previous seasons and it will focus more on the horror and the darkness.

American Horror Story: Hotel premieres this October on FX, though the network has not yet announced a specific premiere date.
