The 50th anniversary celebration of Days of Our Lives and the fictional town of Salem's bicentennial will quickly take a dark turn later this year.

One of the official plot lines for the upcoming celebration has officially been revealed, and it appears several members of the Salem community could find themselves soon dead and off the show the good following a serial killer's appearance in town in late August. With this person's arrival, several of the town's residents-and maybe even some of the former fan-faves who are coming back to celebrate the bicentennial-could find themselves axed off the show completely after they wind up meeting their demise.

During the week of Nov. 8, which celebrate's the show's official 50th anniversary, the plot will culminate with a 'huge reveal,' likely to do with who is responsible.

No big teasers have been given as to who will be axed, but some of the people returning for the bicentennial include Stephen Nichols (Steve Patch Johnson), Alison Sweeney (Sami Brady), Peter Reckell (Bo Brady), Thaoo Penghlis (Andre DiMera), Martha Madison (Belle Black), Tamara Braun (Ava Vitali), and Camila Banus (Gabi Hernandez).

However, several characters are also set to make exits within the next few months as well-meaning they may be potential victims in the murder mystery. Those exits include True O'Brien (Paige Larsen), Melissa Archer (Serena Mason), Paul Telfer (Xander Cook), Freddie Smith (Sonny Kiriakis), Terrell Ransom Jr (Theo Carver), Lauren Boles (Ciara Brady), Riley Bodenstab (Cole Hines), Alisha Boe (Daphne) and Daniel Cosgrove (Aiden Jennings).

Rumored to also potentially be making an exit are James Read (Clyde Weston) and Shawn Christian (Daniel Jonas) as well.

Days of Our Lives airs Monday-Friday at 1 p.m. on NBC.
