He was dedicated to working on his troubled marriage to Will (Guy Wilson) and making things work, but after learning of his husband's latest scheme, Sonny (Freddie Smith) will decide he's finally had enough on Days of Our Lives.
Kate Makes A Shocking Discovery About Paul
After Will comes clean about helping Derek (Spencer Neville) in his pursuit of a relationship with Paul (Christopher Sean) by providing his notes from the interview, Sonny will realize that once again, Will tried to manipulate things in his favor by making Paul unavailable, rather than try and get him out of Salem again. As a result, he will be livid and will walk out.
While out, he will run into Paul and turn to him for comfort and advice as he tries figuring out what to do now. However, knowing that Paul is still in love with him, it will be hard for Sonny to truly consider taking anything Paul says at face value because while he may have a point that Will won't change and will always try to manipulate thing to work out how he wants them to, his opinions in the situation will also be biased.
Paul Uncovers A Shocking Secret
Following his conversations with both, Sonny may then find himself drawn to making an unexpected and heartbreaking decision-one that allows him the freedom to be happy, but keeps him away from any manipulative games that either Will or Paul could play to try and win his heart. Because he needs a break from both, Sonny will decide the time has come for him to leave his marriage, the men in his life, and Salem all behind for good.
