They've had a strained friendship of sorts ever since Valerie (Brytni Sarpi) came to Port Charles, but now, following an apology for calling her a homewrecker, Maxie (Kirsten Storms) will attempt to find some common ground with her best friend's cousin on General Hospital.

Maxie had issues with Valerie all along, and they were increased when she learned of the kiss she shared with Dante (Dominic Zamprogna), but in the best interests of everyone involved, she has agreed to burying the hatchet. But, the situation will still prove to be difficult after she stops by Valerie's new digs at Carly's (Laura Wright), and Valerie walks in on a conversation between the two at an inopportune moment.

"Imagine what it's like to realize you're totally in love with a married man," Carly says to Maxie in a preview clip for the Tuesday, August 18 episode.

After hearing the two talk, Valerie may begin acting a bit cagey, unaware that they aren't on to the fact that she is in fact in love with Dante, and that the two have also slept together. Her behavior could arouse some of Maxie's suspicions again however.

Meanwhile, the conversation will likely be about the drama currently surrounding Lucas (Ryan Carnes) and Brad (Parry Shen), whose engagement has been called off following Lucas learning that Brad was previously married. The situation has only become more complicated however, following the reveal that Rosalie (Linda Elena Tovar) was Brad's wife-and Brad's confession as to why they can't get divorced will cause Lucas to demand answers once and for all.

"You have one last chance to tell me what the hell happened," he says in the clip.

General Hospital airs Monday-Friday at 3 p.m. on ABC.
