'Luke Cage' Netflix: Villainous Black Mariah To Feature? Alfre Woodard Eyed For New Role [VIDEO]
Luke Cage is eyeing Alfre Woodard as a potential new villain.
The State of Affairs actress is in the process of finalizing a deal with the Marvel series, according to Deadline, and she is primed to take on the role of Minetta.
Described as a "powerful woman in local politics who will have an impact on Luke Cage's life," Minette may actually be Black Mariah. A villain from the original canon, Black Mariah could throw a major wrench in Cage's (Mike Colter) plans.

The third series in Marvel's Netflix slate, Luke Cage is slated to make its debut in 2016. Following hard on the heals of Daredevil and Jessica Jones, the upcoming series will follow the adventures of Colter's titular character after he escapes from prison following a wrongful conviction.
Like Marvel's other Netflix properties, Luke Cage will take place in Hell's Kitchen. The streaming series may be laser focused on Manhattan, but the Cheo Hodari Coker produced program will also fold into the wider MCU.
