The Pretty Little Liars' is up in arms regarding a transphobic message from the series Instagram account.

'Pretty Little Liars' Season 6: 'Lots Of Despair' For Ezria, Director Teases Aria & Ezra's Future

The ABC Family series recently revealed that it's main antagonist, previously referred to simply as 'A', was really Alison's transgender sister, Charlotte. While the Charlotte's (formerly Charles) transition was meet with nothing but support by Alison and the Liars, one of the series social media accounts sparked an uproar on Monday.

On Monday, the Pretty Little Liars' Instagram posted a photo Alison from season 5 - back when A's identity was still a mystery - and captioned it with the line "He. She. It. Charlotte. #PrettyLittleLiars." The post was quickly deleted.

Apparently, the post was merely referencing names the Liars had previously called 'A', now updated with Charlotte's name at the end, according to MTV. Fans, however, were upset that the words "he" and "it" were used in reference to someone who is now known as a trans woman.

Series creator Marlene King took to Twitter on Tuesday to explain that the producers, writers, cast and crew do not run the Instagram account, and King explained that they, too, were upset by the post.

"We too were upset by the post yesterday and were happy to see that it was removed," King tweeted. "I encourage all people to be their true selves. And offer my support to the LBGT community."
