American Horror Story fans might be treated to two seasons in the same year in 2016.

Ryan Murphy, showrunner and co-creator of American Horror Story, told Entertainment Weekly recently that there have been discussions to have two seasons air in 2016.

"Next year we might do a fall American Horror Story and a spring," Murphy said. "We have to decide."

Why Is Lady Gaga 'Weeping' On The 'American Horror Story' Set?

The showrunner explained, "We're doing something that we've never done before on the show where we're doing two different groups of writers rooms. Some of our writers will be bouncing around but a whole different group coming in late August. The next thing we're crafting up is very, very different than this. Not smaller. But just not opulent. More rogue and more dark."

The horror anthology series had previously been on the same schedule of an October premiere every season with the finale usually airing in January. But if Murphy's plan works out, fans could be getting American Horror Story all year long.

It's certainly an ambitious feat, considering each season is standalone, which means they can't rely on the same sets from season to season.

The upcoming season is titled Hotel and features a huge cast of stars. The slated cast includes Lady Gaga, Kathy Bates, Sarah Paulson, Angela Bassett, Evan Peters, Finn Wittrock, Denis O'Hare, Matt Bomer, Wes Bentley, Cheyenne Jackson, Chloë Sevigny, Max Greenfield, Naomi Campbell, Lily Rabe, Mädchen Amick, Darren Criss, Mare Winningham and Emma Roberts. Some of these actors' roles are more substantial than others, but it's clear that Hotel will bring the star power.

American Horror Story: Hotel premieres Wednesday, Oct. 7 at 10 p.m. ET/PT on FX.
