Dark Matter left viewers with a jaw-dropping reveal/massive cliffhanger combo meal on Friday, and there will be some very disappointed viewers if the Syfy series doesn't snag a second season.

'Teen Wolf' Season 5: Is Parrish Good Or Bad? Jeff Davis Teases Hellhound's Dubious Nature

Unfortunately, Dark Matter has yet to receive word on the status of their second season. That, however, doesn't mean executive producer Joseph Mallozzi is sitting on his hands. The man has a five-year plan, after all.

"The first season was about peeling the onion on these characters' backstories, finding out who they are, and it's very personal," Mallozzi told The Hollywood Reporter, explaining that the crew of the Raza will soon become more proactive. "Season two we blow the doors off, do some world building, the past comes back to haunt and at the same time, the characters wrap up their exploration of their respective backstories."

'Hannibal' Season 3: Will Finale Leave Fans Satisfied? Bryan Fuller Teases Series' Future

A potential Season 2 promises answers to a whole host of questions - was Six (Roger Cross) always working for the Galactic Authority? If so, when did he realize it? What is Alex Rook (Will Wheaton) really planning for Two (Melissa O'Neil)? Will the Android (Zoie Palmer) discover and fix her "flaw"? And, most importantly, what will become of One (Marc Bendavid), Two, Three (Anthony Lemke), Four (Alex Mallari Jr.), and Five (Jodelle Ferland) now that they are in the custody of the GA?
