Miss Universe 2012 Semi-Finalists to Be Revealed Dec.19 on Annual Pageant
The 16 semi-finalists set to compete for the title of Miss Universe 2012 will be revealed Wednesday when the annual pageant takes place at the Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada at 8 pm EST.
Throughout the Miss Universe competition, 89 contestants will compete in three categories: swimsuit, evening gown and interview. The two-hour telecast will end with Miss Universe 2011 Leila Lopes of Angola, crowning her successor.
Judges include singer CeeLo Green, Baseball player Pablo Sandoval, TV reality stars Scott Disick, Lisa Vanderpump, Brad Goreski, Chef Masaharu Morimoto and former 2010 Miss Universe Ximena Navarrete.

Nigel Barker, photographer and host of "The Face," three-time US Olympic gold medalist in Beach Volleyball Kerri Walsh Jennings and actor Diego Boneta will also serve as judges. The group of ten judges will be led by pageant owner Donald Trump.
Grammy-award winning group Train and Australian singer Tim Omaji are scheduled to perform at the show.
The Miss Universe 2012 pageant will be hosted by Jeannie Mai of Style Network's "How Do I Look?" Andy Cohen host of Bravo's "Watch What Happens Live," and E! News host Giuliana Rancic.
The preliminary competition was held Dec. 13 at the Planet Hollywood Resort and Casino in Las Vegas, NV.
The beautiful women from around the world were judged in segments that included bathing suits, evening gowns, and an interview.
Viewers who missed the only preliminary round can still watch the broadcast on the competition's website.
It was a tough choice for the judges who had to nail down the top beauties for the final competition. The 89 contestants were narrowed down Thursday night to 16 finalists who will compete for the top title, but viewers will have to wait till Dec. 19 to see which beauties will go on to the last round.
The preliminary competition gave fans a preview of what is to be expected at this year's Miss Universe competition, but it wasn't the only time viewers got to see the contestants.
On Dec. 14 the beauty queens participated in a costume show that heated things up.
The pageant has also created a Twitter account for fans to have their questions asked during the live broadcast on Dec. 19.
Fans will get the chance to vote for their favorite beauty before the competition by visiting Miss Universe's website, but voting ends on Dec. 18.
The 2012 Miss Universe Pageant will be broadcast live on Dec. 19 at 8 p.m. on NBC.
