'Big Brother 17' Spoilers: Liz Melts Down After Nomination Ceremony, Will The 'Showmance' Be Broken Up?
The biggest "showmance" of the season has finally been nominated in the Big Brother 17 house.
The Tide May Be Turning In The 'Big Brother 17' House
Head of Household: Steve Moses
Nominees: Austin Matelson and Liz Nolan
Other houseguests: John McGuire, Julia Nolan and Vanessa Rousso
Vanessa Viciously Confronts Steve On 'Big Brother'
Before the Nomination ceremony on Friday, Steve talked with both Austin and Liz individually to tell them that they were going to be nominated. Austin was very matter-of-fact and wasn't confrontational while Liz accepted her fate while still visibly hurt.
Liz began crying about it to Austin and then Julia and then Vanessa. All of them tried to comfort her and say that the Veto is still ahead.
The Nomination ceremony was held and Steve followed through with his nominations of Austin and Liz. After the ceremony, Liz was crying even harder with Austin and Julia comforting her. Liz said she felt especially hurt because it was Steve that did it, when she's been saving him from the block this entire game.
Austin left to talk with Steve privately. They exchanged a careful dialogue with Steve asserting to Austin that he's not the target and Austin saying that ultimately it's a game. Little does Austin know, however, that Steve and John actually do want Austin to be evicted this week. And assuming the nominations stay the same and they don't change their minds, Austin will be evicted on Thursday. All it takes is a two-vote majority, which can happen with Julia and John. Vanessa will probably have to go along with them to avoid becoming a target.
Liz said she might have to throw the Veto competition to Julia, so that she could save Liz from the block and keep all of them safe. Basically, Steve would only have the option of nominating John or Vanessa, and Julia and Liz would control the votes for who goes home (presumably not Austin).
It was an early night for the houseguests as there was very little game-planning to do with the Veto competition still ahead. This is the most crucial Veto of the season, because it could decide the fate of the rest of the game. If Austin or Liz win, Julia goes up in their place. If John, Steve or Vanessa win, they keep the nominations the same. But if Julia wins the Veto it could really change the game with the Austwins gaining supremacy over the house.
Big Brother 17 returns for a new episode on Sunday at 8 p.m. ET/PT on CBS.
