The two are still drawn to one another despite everything, but things have become even more strained ever since Chad's name was floated around as the prime suspect in Serena Mason's shocking murder. Ben hasn't helped the situation either, as his constant trying to convince Abigail that Chad is guilty isn't giving her as much confidence in the man she once loved more than anyone else.
However, the two will finally be able to talk face-to-face, without interruption, and discuss the situation, which continually looks more and more bleak for Chad as time passes. And when he reveals to Abigail the truth about the night Serena died, she may be shocked and saddened by what he has to say.

The truth is that Chad can't remember what happened after he followed Serena out of Club TBD, where she had just slapped him and cut his lip. He was exceedingly drunk that night and has blacked out on all memories of what happened between the time he left and the time he woke up at the Salem Inn. Though he swears he didn't kill Serena, he has no way to genuinely prove his innocence until he can recall his memories from that night-and until then, he could be at major risk of going to prison.
