'Secrets and Lies' Season 2: Michael Ealy Dishes On 'More Disturbing' Plot Twists During Show's Sophomore Run [VIDEO]
The freshman run of ABC's Secrets and Lies garnered a bit of a cult following because of its emotional mystery, but things are going to be even more gut-wrenching on the show's upcoming second season.
Kenny Johnson Joins 'Secrets & Lies' Season 2 As Potential Murder Suspect
In an interview with Zap 2 It, new star Michael Ealy, who takes over as the new lead from Ryan Phillippe, dished that the show's new season would be even more emotionally charged and disturbing than the first-which saw Phillippe's character, Ben Crawford, go to jail and presumably die there for the murder of his son-a crime that was actually committed by his 10-year-old daughter.
"[It's a] new case, new people. Still Charlotte," Ealy said in the interview when asked about the new season. "But it's much more emotionally charged this season, a lot more family drama if you will, and a bigger family. And it's going to be a little bit more disturbing I think for people, than the first one."
Is AnnaLynne McCord's Character Going To Be The Killer On 'Secrets and Lies?'
The new season will follow Ealy's character, Eric Warner, whose wife, Kate (Jordana Brewster) is murdered on the same night as a party at his family's private equity firm, which he is set to inherit. He quickly becomes the lead suspect in Detective Cornell's (Juliette Lewis) investigation.
In addition to Lewis returning and Ealy and Brewster being cast, the series will also welcome Terry O'Quinn as Eric's father, Mekia Cox as Eric's sister, Charlie Barnett as Eric's brother, AnnaLynne McCord as Eric's sister-in-law and Kenny Johnson as another potential murder suspect.
The show is slated for another midseason run.
