As suspected, the second episode in Castle's upcoming eighth season will be from Beckett's (Stana Katic) point of view.

Beckett is set to disappear in the season 8 premiere of Castle, and the episode, titled XY, will be seen through Castle's (Nathan Fillion) point of view. With the second episode titled XX, many suspected that the first episode would be from Castle's POV (XY = male chromosome) while the second episode would be from Beckett's (XX = female chromosome).

ABC has now released the synopsis for XX, and it's looking like an exciting episode ahead.

"In part two of last week's Season 8 premiere, Beckett's side of her abrupt disappearance is revealed," the synopsis reads. "After receiving a mysterious tip from her past, Beckett is launched into a fight for her life, with a team of mercenaries hot on her trail. While Castle investigates why his wife is on the run, Beckett must figure out who wants her dead, before they can finish the job."

The guest stars set to appear in this episode were also announced, as follows: Sunkrish Bala as Vikram Singh, Coby Ryan McLaughlin as Brooks, Jack Coleman as Senator Will Bracken, Daisy Betts as A.J.

As revealed from the premiere episode synopsis, Senator Bracken is indeed back. Will he have something to do with Beckett's disappearance? Only time will tell. The episode airs Monday, Sept. 28 in the regular Castle timeslot.

Castle season 8 premieres Monday, Sept. 21 at 10 p.m. ET/PT on ABC.
