As it stands now, Liz seems more receptive to taking Vanessa to the end, while Steve said privately that he's definitely evicting Vanessa if he wins HOH. However, Steve still kept up appearances with Vanessa and complimented the strength of their alliance.

The first part of the final HOH competition was then held, and live feeders got to see it all unfold through the night. The competition involved each houseguests sitting on a platform and holding onto rope as they were mechanically jerked around, dipped into water and slammed against a wall.

All three houseguests stayed in the competition for hours on end, making this longest final endurance competition in many seasons. Steve fell off his platform after 3.5 hours, at which point Vanessa immediately started work on Liz. Vanessa told Liz that she still had 10 hours left in her, while Liz was moaning in pain from the rigors of the competition.

About 10 minutes after Steve dropped, Liz more or less gave up and fell off the platform. This means that Vanessa officially became the winner of Part 1 and will move on to Part 3. Liz and Steve will face off in Part 2 and whoever wins from Part 2 will face Vanessa in Part 3.

After her win, Vanessa proceeded to tell Steve that she has confidence in his ability to win Part 2. Then with Liz, she reassured her many times that she's taking her to the Final 2 and discussed all the deals Austin made against Liz and Julia. Liz took it all in.

Part 2 will likely be held on Friday and then the houseguests don't have to worry about any competitions until finale night, which is next Wednesday.
