Coming off a big victory in Week 15, the Chicago Bears (9-6) will face off against the Detroit Lions (4-11) on Sunday in the final week of the regular season. Although the Bears have played well below expectations in the second half of the season, they may still be able to sneak into the playoffs nonetheless.

Before worrying over the outcomes of the NFC North's other two postseason hopeful clubs, Chicago will put its focus on Calvin Johnson and the struggling Lions.

In order for the team to make it into the playoffs, the Minnesota Vikings must lose in its game versus the Packers combined with a win of its own.

After going 7-1 in its first eight games, the Bears clearly had hoped they would win the division title. However, at this point, Chicago would be content with one of the two wild-card spots.

"This time of year, you want to be in it, you want to be relevant, and we are. We have a chance, and that's all you can hope for. It's not an ideal situation that we're in. But hopefully we can take care of business and do all that we can do. And from there, after we've gotten ourselves in this position, that's about all we can hope for," coach Lovie Smith told ESPN.

The Bears have only been victorious in two of its last seven matchups, including the 28-13 win against the Arizona Cardinals last week. Despite its overall struggles, Chicago is the clear-cut favorite to prevail over Detroit, who's given up an average of 31.9 points during its seven-game losing streak.

"It's safe to say (the Lions) are disappointed in their season, so they would love nothing more than to make us disappointed for the rest of the year. This is a big game. We've got to win. There is nothing else to be said about it... these are the games you've got to have," quarterback Jay Cutler told the Chicago Bears official website.
