The actress recently announced her departure from the iconic BBC series, and Coleman opened up to Entertainment Weekly about her final day on set.

"It did not feel real at all. I mean, it's become more my home than my home actually is. It was just really weird," Coleman explained. "But we film out of sequence as well so, my last part with Peter [Capaldi], I couldn't quite look at him because it wasn't supposed to be a sad part."

Little is known about Clara's final exit, including when it will take place. It is widely believed that the companion will bow out ahead of the Christmas special (Twelve will get to hang with River Song instead), but the actress hopes the nature of her final episode will stay under wraps.

"I can't [say anything]," Coleman teased. "But I'm hoping it will be a surprise, and I'm hoping it will stay a surprise."
