Ian Ward Will Have Genoa City 'In Turmoil' On 'The Young and the Restless' With Gabriel/Adam's Help?

On September 18, soap star Daniel Goddard sustained a major injury on set of The Young and the Restless while shooting "a fight scene."

He broke his elbow and needed to have surgery to correct the injury.

A week ago today, the Cane Ashby portrayer had "surgery to screw and wire" his severely injured "elbow back together."

After his surgery he was put on bed rest so the proper healing could take place. He needed to keep his elbow and arm raised over his heart in order "to control the bleeding."

Prior to having surgery he was even still shooting scenes, but now since his surgery he is officially back on set as good as new.

On Thursday the actor tweeted, "My dear friends, it's been a week since my surgery & I am back at work!"

"I couldn't have done it without u! Love u!" he added.

With the tweet came a photo of Goddard standing outside the CBS building with a smile on his face. His previously injured elbow is not visible in the shot, but if he's already back on set he must be totally healed especially given that gigantic grin.

We just hope if there are any future combat scenes for him he won't sustain such serious injuries.

The Young and the Restless airs on weekdays at 12:30 p.m. ET on CBS.
