Rumors of a delayed season 10 have morphed into panic about an alleged "ratings crisis" now that the current run has reached episode 3. The Mirror has reported that the series may move to a Sherlock style broadcast for 2016, or worse yet, oust Peter Capaldi (Twelve) from the TARDIS.

Can The Mirror be believed? The BBC's recent decision to go ahead with another spinoff appears to contradict these new assertions. Why expound on a floundering series? Meanwhile, Doctor Who TV points out that rumors of a delayed season 10 came down long before season 9 even hit air; a fact which contradicts the idea that the alleged switch to a short order could have been prompted by falling numbers.
