The Flash's Ronnie sacrificed his life to close the singularity, but that doesn't mean Robbie Amell's character is gone for good.

'The Flash' Season 2: Barry To Get Burned By Captain Cold (Again)? 'Family Of Rogues' Plot Revealed

By time The Flash's season 2 premiere came to a close, Firestorm was a thing of the past (at least for the moment), Caitlin lost the love of her life (again), and the DC franchise bid farewell to its second Amell. Ronnie Raymond fans should take heart, however. The future is not as bleak as you may think.

"You're never really dead when you're on The Flash, a TV show where there are universes and time travel," executive producer Andrew Kreisberg told Entertainment Weekly. "He was, in fact, killed in that moment, but that doesn't mean that we've seen the last of Robbie Amell on this show."

While we already know Jay Jackson (Franz Drameh) and Professor Stein (Victor Garber) will combine to form Firestorm in Legends of Tomorrow, a version of Ronnie may find his way back into The Flash courtesy of Earth 2.

"Getting to see who's over there and who's not, and getting to see some of our actors getting to portray different versions of their characters, that's really the fun of when you look at the great sci-fi shows like Star Trek and Doctor Who, when they go into the mirror world," Kreisberg told Variety. "Not everybody will have a sharp Van Dyke to signify that they're evil."

Could there be a more sinister Ronnie in the future? Watch The Flash Tuesdays at 8 p.m. ET on The CW to find out.
