After seventeen exciting weeks of the regular season, the NFL post-season has indeed arrived and will surely brew up some exciting gridiron battles.

Ten of the sixteen matchups played last weekend had playoff implications, a testament to the 16 divisional matchups that took place on the final day, which was a tradition that began being formatted into schedules in 2010.

With the stakes extremely high and the regular season now at a close, many of the NFL's finest competitors voiced their anticipations for their quest to the Vince Lombardi trophy, according to Sports Talk Florida.

"We're starting the second season, the tournament, the playoff season now. We've got a lot of things to work on and we will," said Denver Broncos head coach John Fox.

"I'm so happy we're going to the playoffs," Washington Redskins running back Alfred Morris stated.

While finishing first in their respective divisions is one of the main goals for every football club, most teams are merely satisfied to make it into the post-season, as anything can happen from that point on.

"A new season is about to begin. The No. 1 seed does not guarantee playoff wins in this league. We have to go out there and show the world that we are the best football team in the NFL. We will take it one day at a time. Whichever opponent we face, that's going to be a good football team," said Atlanta Falcons running back Michael Turner.
