Granger (Miguel Ferrer) is known as the uncompromising company man of the OSP team, but the assistant director has still managed to snag his fair share of shining moments over the last five seasons. Viewers will finally get a more in depth look at the taciturn leader when NCIS: LA airs "The Long Goodbye."

"Many thanks to [writer Dave Kalstein] for the complex and unpredictable Granger found in 708, and to [director John Peter Kousakis] for steering the boat so deftly," Ferrer tweeted as the episode's first day of filming concluded on Tuesday.

Set to air as either episode 9 or 10 of season 7, Kalstein's latest script has already created a buzz amongst NCIS: LA fans. Expected to hit screens as Deeks' (Eric Christian Olsen) LAPD internal affairs investigation reaches a climax, the episode's title has many convinced the shaggy-haired detective will soon take his leave of NCIS.

Will Granger show a new side as Deeks' problems come to light, or is the development of Ferrer's character integral to another case altogether? Find out more when NCIS: LA airs Mondays at 10 p.m. ET on CBS.
