'Sister Wives' Cast News: Robyn Allegedly Knew Meri Was Being Catfished, Was She Behind Whole Scheme? [PHOTO]
Any hopes the Brown family had that a cheating scandal involving Meri Brown's emotional affair online with a catfisher would be swept under the rug after a confession continues to go out the window, and it's unclear if the scandal could affect their show Sister Wives.
Meri Brown's Emotional Affair With Catfisher Exposed
In a statement confessing that she had briefly been involved in an emotional affair earlier this year with "someone who turned out not to be who they said they were" during a time where she felt unhappy, Meri also credited the family-consisting of shared husband Kody and her three sister wives Janelle, Christine and Robyn-for standing with her during the scandal. However, a new report from In Touch seems to hint that Robyn actually has a connection to the scandal as a whole.
"Robyn absolutely knew from the beginning that Meri was being Catfished," a source told the magazine. "Robyn sat back and just watched as the whole scam unraveled."
Meri Breaks Her Silence On Being Catfished
There have been a slew of rumors surrounding the family, specifically the relationships between Meri and the family as well as Robyn since earlier this year, when it was revealed that Kody and Meri, who were legally married for 24 years, divorced in 2013, with Kody then legally marrying Robyn, in an attempt the family has made to allow for Kody to legally adopt Robyn's children from a previous marriage. Since then, it has also been revealed that Robyn is pregnant with the family's 18th child.
Following the divorce, Meri appeared to seek out the online romance with a man allegedly named Samuel Cooper-whose identity has since been revealed as that of Jackie Overton, though accounts and online forms run by Cooper still maintain he is a man.
A large number of voicemails Meri left for "Sam" have also continued to be released, which hint that the connection was much deeper than Meri has since let on, with plans to even meet up in person.
Since the confession, "Sam" has taken to his personal blog to post that the relationship was not the result of a catfisher, and he was a real person, and has also claimed the affair took a sexual turn and has added a section to his site for people to request a password for access to proof of such.
"I added this page to prove without a doubt that I am all man lol. And Meri and had sex over 60 times," the page reads. "Nothing has been edited. Nothing. You can clearly see her, you can definitely tell its me. You can't deny we were happy, having fun, and in a consensual sexual relationship."
Sister Wives airs Sundays at 9 p.m. on TLC.
