The Green Bay Packers (11-5) tried everything it possibly could in last week's game versus the Minnesota Vikings (10-6) in order to avoid facing them again on Saturday. However, this week's matchup will offer season ending implications for both teams when the two once again battle it out on the gridiron in a Wild-Card playoff.

The NFC North champion Packers had to beat the Vikings in Week 17 in order to bypass the first round of the playoffs via bye and claim the No. 2 seed. Running back Adrian Peterson and his 199 yards along with a franchise-record 34 carries and two touchdowns prevented that as Green Bay fell 37-34 dropping them to the No. 6 seed.

Although the game went down to the wire, it was Peterson's 26-yard run that set the stage for a Blair Walsh 29-yard field goal that ultimately did the Packers in.

"We're in the playoffs now, so you play who you are seeded against. The road got a little tougher having to play on opening weekend, but we've got a home game and that's why you win the division, quarterback Aaron Rodgers told ESPN.

"You get to go back home and the game will be a different type of game. They won't have the home-crowd advantage and hopefully that will make a difference," he added.

The setting of the games has seemingly played a large part in the Packers' defensive success against Peterson. In the star rusher's career at Lambeau field, Green Bay has prevailed against the Vikings in five of six contests.
