ABC has released a sneak peek of episode 3 in which Hook cautiously walks through his seemingly empty ship when suddenly Emma appears behind him, which startles him.

"It's not funny appearing like that," he scolds. Emma apologizes, at which point Hook asks what's going on.

"I know this has all been really confusing and I have not made it any easier," Emma says, the darkness clearly apparent within her. "I wanted to apologize for overreacting last time. I know you're just trying to help. So I thought we could just talk and have lunch like old times."

Hook admits he would "like nothing more, but this is hardly like old times."

A full meal appears before them on the table, at which point Hook looks back to see Emma as her normal self again.

"Better? Come on. You know you can trust me," Emma says, her voice the same as it was pre-darkness. Will Hook fall for this? Only time will tell, though he seems unfortunately receptive to the development.

Once Upon a Time airs Sundays at 8 p.m. ET/PT on ABC.
