Meanwhile, actor Kristoffer Polaha (Ringer, Stalker) has signed on for a recurring arc as Caleb Brown, a public defender who goes up against Beckett and the 12th Precinct. This news comes via TVLine, adding that this comes at a time of great chaos in Beckett's life.
Beckett is currently dealing with the consequences of separating from Castle while searching for Bracken's (Jack Coleman) partner.
Meanwhile, Fillion recently admitted that he was flabbergasted by the writers' decision to split up Castle and Beckett, even if the reasoning was sound.
"First of all, I asked them if they were high," he admitted, according to TVLine. "Second, they reassured me that what was going was they wanted to get back to a time when people were rooting for the couple, rooting for them to get together, to do something."
Castle airs Mondays at 10 p.m. ET/PT on ABC.
