Rio de Janeiro police confirmed that they are investigating an alleged rape that took place in Brazil's Big Brother House last Saturday, when a contestant allegedly was seen being raped live on TV.

Big Brother presenter Pedro Bial said "Since Sunday morning, the board had been evaluating the behavior of Daniel Echaniz, who is suspected of having infringed the rules of the program."

Contestant Daniel Echaniz was accused of sexually assaulting Monique Amin and has been removed from the house.

UPDATE:

Monique Amin denies having been raped in the Big Brother Brazil statement to police, she also admitted consensual exchanges with Daniel and doesnt want to undergo a forensic examination, according to Brazilian newspaper Estado De Minas.

Through a delegate, Monique witnessed the 25-minute video and confirms that the actions in the video were consensual.

"Both denied that there was sexual intercourse," the delegate said.
