Enzo (Michael Malarkey) might have kidnapped Caroline (Candice King), but he still might have a little bit of care left for her, Damon (Ian Somerhalder) and the rest of the residents of Mystic Falls that are anti-heretics and Lily (Annie Wersching).

Will Matt & Bonnie Find Love This Season On 'The Vampire Diaries'?

Malarkey told TVLine that even though his character has clearly chosen to side with Lily and her other family, he still has some loyalty to Damon and Caroline "to a certain extent."

His wishy-washy feelings about these two distinct groups will surely cause a lot of mayhem especially since his trust is in question on both sides.

In an interview with Alloy Entertainment, Malarkey also discussed the tough spot he's in between Damon, Caroline, Stefan (Paul Wesley), plus others and Lily and the heretics.

"Well, as far as he's concerned, he's spent a lot of time being loyal to Damon and Caroline and sticking up for them. But, never have they done the same for him," Malarkey said of Enzo, adding, "Never have they shown the same loyalty in return. And I think that over the course of time, these small disappointments started adding up and he started asking himself, 'I have invested so much in trying to be friends with these people. Why? Why do I even bother when I already have someone here by my side who promises me all these things, and seems to respect me?'"

Malarkey also mentioned how Enzo doesn't view things the way viewers of The Vampire Diaries do since at least the heretics and Lily "stick to their word."

The Vampire Diaries airs on Thursday nights at 8 p.m. ET on The CW.
