Why Alexa PenaVega & Derek Hough's Perfect Tango On 'Dancing With the Stars' Almost Didn't Happen

The final nine celebs on Dancing With the Stars performed famous dances in pop culture last night. Some of the elaborate routines actually came pretty close to their original incarnations, prompting guest judge Olivia Newton-John and permanent judges Carrie Ann Inaba, Julianne Hough and Bruno Tonioli to dole out "10s" like nobody's business.

Five out of nine celebs received at least two "10s" from the judges, with three of those five receiving perfect scores.

The first perfect score of the night went to Andy Grammer and his partner Allison Holker. The couple performed a Jazz routine to "Good Morning" from Singin' in the Rain, using jackets as props, walking over couch, dancing up and down stairs and more. Check it out here:

The next perfect score went to Bindi Irwin and Derek Hough. They performed a Rumba to "(I've Had) The Time of My Life" from Dirty Dancing, complete with the iconic lift seen in the film. The judges were very impressed and gave them "10s" accordingly. Watch the routine here:

Finally, the last perfect score went to Tamar Braxton and her partner Val Chmerkovskiy. The couple performed a very complex Jazz routine to "Rhythm Nation" by Janet Jackson, mimicking the singer's every move perfectly in step. Watch that performance here:

At the end of the night, Paula Deen and partner Louis van Amstel were eliminated from the competition. She was the last remaining celeb to receive consistently low scores so now the competition will become eve more intense.

Dancing With the Stars airs Mondays at 8 p.m. ET/PT on ABC.
