Carlos PenaVega performed a very racy routine on ABC's Dancing With the Stars Monday night, but why are fellow Christians now praising him?

Paula Deen Says The 'Dancing With the Stars' Judges Didn't Like Her From The Start

Last week, PenaVega and his DWTS partner Witney Carson were assigned the song "Pony" by Ginuwine, featured prominently in the film Magic Mike. They were tasked with performing a very sexual number from the film, with PenaVega having to rip off his shirt and make some sexual poses.

But in the clip package featured before the dance Monday night, PenaVega expressed his reservations over doing the routine due to his Christian faith. The Big Time Rush star admitted that he was very uncomfortable with performing the routine while Carson urged him that he would just be acting. While PenaVega wound up performing the dance Monday, he still maintained his position.

Since the dance, many DWTS fans took to PenaVega's Facebook and Twitter pages to praise him for standing up for his Christian beliefs.

Some fans dissed Dancing With the Stars for arguably making a mockery of PenaVega's faith.

Do you think it was wrong of DWTS to give the star such a racy routine? Weigh in below.

Dancing With the Stars airs Mondays at 8 p.m. ET/PT on ABC.
