In what should be a highly competitive 2nd Test cricket match, New Zealand will once again take on the South Africa squad on Friday.

Graeme Smith is nearing ten years at his position while Brendon McCullum is in only his second game there for New Zealand. Smith recently gave his opinion on just how the newbie player should handle it.

"A game like Newlands gets you to ask questions and Brendon might be feeling the heat especially with everything that has gone on," Smith explained to ESPN, while referring to the Ross Taylor ordeal.

"I've been there, you have to try and keep a level head and inner strength of character is crucial; just not get too emotional. When there is a lot of noise around you, you have to focus on how to get your team through that noise," he added.

The noise surrounding the New Zealand side has seemingly increased after news of another injury surfaced. Although he had a late fitness test, James Franklin was scratched from the 2nd Test match. Franklin is the third New Zealand player to be put on the shelf in the series, as Daniel Vettori and Tim Southee didn't even make the trek to South Africa.
