He was brought in to try and help figure out the truth behind Jake's (Billy Miller) real identity, and now, Spinelli (Bradford Anderson) may be getting closer to uncovering the truth that Jake is really Jason on General Hospital.

Sam (Kelly Monaco) and Jake managed to steal some encrypted files from Nikolas' (Tyler Chrstopher) computer and enlisted Spinelli's help in cracking the code to determine what they were. He quickly did, finding information that Nikolas had in fact tested Jake's DNA against someone else's. When Jake went to confront Nikolas for answers, he still wound up empty-handed.

However, Spinelli has continued to dig around, and may have finally struck paydirt on information about Jake and just who he could really be.

"The gateway to your missing DNA!" Spinelli exclaims to Jake and Sam in a preview clip for the Thursday, October 22 episode.

However, now that Nikolas knows Jake is looking into the truth, he will do whatever he can to ensure that the process is stopped immediately so he doesn't lose control of ELQ. That will include informing Elizabeth (Rebecca Herbst) that Jason is getting closer to the truth-which also puts her at risk of losing him for good once again, because he would likely go back to Sam if he knew that he was really her husband.

"Jason is looking into his past," Nikolas warns Elizabeth in the clip.

General Hospital airs Monday-Friday at 3 p.m. on ABC.
