The Simpsons is set to air its annual Treehouse of Horror episode this Sunday and this time they're going all out. The episode will feature another confrontation between Bart Simpson (Nancy Cartwright) and Sideshow Bob (Kelsey Grammer) but this time it won't go well for Bart.
In fact, Bart Simpson will die.

It's been 24 years, but Sideshow Bob will finally do the deed of killing Bart Simpson. "24 years of trying to kill a 10-year-old child have finally paid off," Sideshow Bob says in the episode, according to The New York Times.
As per usual, this special will be split into three segments, with the Bart/Sideshow Bob segment focusing on what Sideshow Bob does now that he's accomplished a decades-long goal.
"You never saw the Road Runner lose. This time you do," executive producer Al Jean told Entertainment Weekly recently. "His whole life has just been about killing Bart, so what's next? We deal with how Bob would really feel once he accomplished this goal he's had his whole life."
And according to Jean, Bart won't just die one time. He will have multiple deaths.
"There's a betting pool on the manner of death," Jean said. "What I'm going to say is: Everyone in the pool is going to win because he gets killed so many times."
Like previous specials, this Treehouse of Horror probably won't have any effect on the episodes to come so fans should not worry about Bart actually being dead. But it will certainly be a sight to see after all these years.
The Simpsons airs Sundays at 8 p.m. ET/PT on Fox.
