The Netflix revival will only feature four super-sized episodes, but Lorelai (Lauren Graham) and Rory's (Alexis Bledel) highly anticipated return will span the course 12 months.
"Each episode will represent a different season over the course of one calendar year," TV Line announced on Monday. "In other words, there will be a fall chapter, a winter chapter, a spring chapter and a summer chapter."

In addition, Gilmore Girls won't try to turn back the clock. The WB/CW series rolled its final credits in 2007, and Amy Sherman-Palladino is keenly aware of the eight years that have rolled by in the interim. When the fast talking protagonists take the screen once more they will be eight years further along in their life's journey.
When the four-episode event comes to a close, fans will finally get to hear the final four words Sherman-Palladino had in mind for the season 7 series finale had she been involved.
"[It's] always a bummer when you don't get to end it," Sherman-Palladino told TV Line at the 2015 ATX Television Festival. "[I] hoped maybe there would have been a call - 'Hey, it's the last episode. Do you want to come back?' - and there wasn't."
Well, now's the time to get those parting words out in the air. After all, we're dying to know just how Gilmore Girls meant to end.
Netflix has yet to announce a projected release date for the revival. In the meantime, travel back in time and check out a promo for the series' first ever episode.
