In an interview with TVLine, Stephen Amell and Emily Bett Rickards spoke about Oliver running for mayor in season 4 of Arrow, and what repurcussions it might have for the people close to Oliver.

For one, even though Felicity (Emily Bett Rickards) is slightly hesitant about Oliver's big move, she will be supporting him unconditionally.
Rickards stated that Felicity is going to be there for her partner every way she can.

"The first moment was like, 'Ohhhkay, honey, maybe we should talk about that,'" Rickards said. "And then there's this unbound support that they have for each other. It's this idea of, 'We can do anything even though it's dangerous. This is what we have signed up for and this is going to be our life. Therefore, we will try this new idea you have, and I'm there to support you unconditionally."
Amell seconds the point by revealing that the entire process will actually bring the two closer, as the campaign "galvanizes their relationship."
In fact Oliver's candidacy will also help build his relationship with his sister Thea (Willa Holland).
"It actually works well for his relationship with Thea, too, because she becomes involved in his campaign," he said.
The next episode, titled Beyond Redemption, of Arrow will air on Oct. 28.
