Whose heart did Emma (Jennifer Morrison) have to crush to enact a new curse on ABC's Once Upon a Time?

Could Merida Embrace Darkness On 'Once Upon a Time' This Season?

We know that Emma has enacted a curse and according to the rules of this process, a crushed hurt of the thing you love most is required. So the question is whose heart did Emma crush, Hook's (Colin O'Donoghue) or Henry's (Jared Gilmore).

Once Upon a Time executive producers Edward Kitsis and Adam Horowitz spoke with Entertainment Weekly about the curse, confirming that Emma indeed had to crush someone's heart to do it.

Will Merida Be Able To Disobey Emma's Orders To Kill Belle On 'Once Upon a Time'?

"Yes," Kitsis said. "Can't make a dark curse without crushing the heart of the thing you love most."

But Horowitz teased, "There's other stuff going on than what appears on the surface right now."

"The question you're asking is whose heart is it and is someone going to die? We're not going to answer that, but we will say the information you need to guess has not appeared yet ... or has it," Kitsis added.

From what the showrunners are telling (or not telling), there may be a whole lot more to the story than fans expect.

Meanwhile, the show is planning its landmark 100th episode by bringing back Barbara Hershey as Cora. There is no word on how Cora will return considering she was killed in the present day, but a flashback is always possible. Or is there a big reveal coming? Only time will tell.

Once Upon a Time airs Sundays at 8 p.m. ET/PT on ABC.
