'Longmire' Season 5 Renewed: Netflix Picks Up Western Drama For Another Round, Twitter Celebrates
It's a good day to be a Longmire fan!.Netflix has just renewed the Western drama for a fifth season!
Netflix announced via Facebook and Twitter Friday that there will be a fifth season of Longmire. The post includes a photo of Robert Taylor as Walt Longmire along with "LONGMIRE SEASON 5" in big bold letters.
"We've never been one to back down from a fight," Netflix wrote in the post. "Longmire will return to Netflix for Season 5."
Diehard Longmire fans are celebrating the news after a few months of uncertainty regarding the future of the show. Fans have been used to the show's future being up in the air, with A&E previously canceling it after three seasons. After a few months, Netflix agreed to pick it up for a 10-episode fourth season, which began streaming on Sept. 10.

It is currently unknown when Longmire season 5 will be released, though Netflix likes to premiere new seasons at the same time every year, so it's possible that it could be released in Sept. 2016. However, no premiere date has been confirmed by Netflix.
