Henry Allen spent the last 15 years in an eight by ten cell, but now The Flash's dad is ready to explore the wide world outside Iron Heights.

Barry's (Grant Gustin) pop skipped town in the season 2 premiere, but viewers should expect to see as much of the former dentist as they did when he was incarcerated. After all, Henry (John Wesley Shipp) did tell his son that he would just be a phone call away.

"You'll see him just as much as you saw him last year," executive producer Andrew Kreisberg told Entertainment Weekly. "He's already in a bunch of episodes coming up."

That being said, poor Barry still doesn't quite understand why his father would up and leave just as they finally had a chance to rebuild the life Eobard Thawne shattered all those years ago.

"Barry was not really understanding why, but trying to just give it to him and be supportive of him needing space, I guess, even though it's kind of confusing to Barry," Gustin told TV Line. "He's not sure if he's supposed to reach out or not right now, but he'll be there again when Barry needs him."

Now, all that remains to be determined is why The Flash will call upon his old man. Will it be Zoom? Grood? Harrison Wells 2.0? Find out when The Flash airs Tuesdays at 8 p.m. ET on The CW.
