Why Will Beckett Be Missing From 'Castle' Next Episode?

Castle remains a popular hit with the general public eight seasons in. The show received a nomination for Favorite TV Crime Drama at the People's Choice Awards nominations announcement today, an award they have won the past four years. They are nominated against Fox's Bones and three CBS dramas, Criminal Minds, NCIS and Person of Interest.

Nathan Fillion (who plays Richard Castle) is nominated for Favorite Crime Drama TV Actor against Jim Caviezel, LL Cool J, Mark Harmon and Shemar Moore. While Fillion's category placement has shifted over the course of the series, he has collected a People's Choice Award three out of the past four years.

Stana Katic (who plays Kate Beckett) picked up another nomination for Favorite Crime Drama TV Actress. She is competing against Emily Deschanel, Lucy Liu, Mariska Hargitay and Pauley Perrette. Katic has won a trophy the last two years.

So will Castle's success at the People's Choice Awards continue? Tune in to the awards show on Wednesday, Jan. 6 on CBS.

Based on fan reaction from season 8, it's possible that fans may be losing interest in the series. The show made the bold move of splitting up Castle and Beckett early into season 8 and while the split is supposed to be temporary, it still angered fans at the time.
